Sushil Purohit has served as Chief Executive Officer of Gentari since January 2023, guiding the company’s growth as a trusted clean energy solutions partner across the Asia Pacific, with a focus on its three core business pillars: Renewable Energy, Hydrogen and Green Mobility.
A recognised leader in the global energy sector, Sushil brings nearly three decades of experience in transforming businesses, scaling innovation and advancing the energy transition.
Prior to joining Gentari, he spent over 24 years at Wärtsilä Corporation, culminating in his role as President of Wärtsilä Energy and Executive Vice President of the Group. Under his leadership, Wärtsilä emerged as leading frontrunner in grid balancing engine power plants and large-scale energy storage systems. He was also instrumental in launching Wärtsilä’s decarbonisation-focused services business, supporting customers in improving system efficiency and reducing emissions through data-driven pathways and commercially viable solutions.
Sushil brings a proven global track record, having overseen operations in more than 70 countries. He has built and led high-performing teams, driven and fostered strategic partnerships and delivered market-leading, innovative energy solutions across diverse markets. His earlier roles at Wärtsilä included managing energy business operations across the Americas, Middle East, Asia and Australia and leading global strategies for renewables and energy storage.

Sushil holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Management Technology, India.
