About this session
Clean-energy employment is expanding rapidly, while conventional energy systems continue to require deep specialist expertise. The skills the sector needs are changing faster than its talent pipelines. AI, automation and new technologies are also changing the capabilities required across frontline, engineering and management roles. Employers must reskill existing workers while competing for scarce digital and technical talent. Education and apprenticeship routes need to modernise at the same pace. The discussion will focus on how the sector builds a workforce that can run both the conventional system and the one replacing it, what education and training need to change, and how employers compete for talent against other industries.
