About this session
The aviation industry has committed to blending targets that current sustainable aviation fuel supply cannot meet across most economies. Several countries hold the feedstock, the refining base and the aviation demand to build a domestic industry. The ecosystem, however, remains fragmented, and production economics and airline affordability are both difficult. Every part of the chain depends on another becoming credible first. Scaling SAF requires conversion pathways suited to available feedstock, reliable supply aggregated at refinery scale, a reduced cost premium over conventional jet fuel, and proper certification before the fuel can be used commercially. The discussion will focus on aligning producers, airlines, technology licensors and financiers around credible offtake, certification, price-sharing and policy support that can move projects from announcement to operations.
