About this session
India's ambition to become a developed economy by 2047 will require a much larger and more resilient energy system. Demand will rise rapidly with industrialisation, urbanisation and rising incomes, while import dependence keeps energy security critical. India must expand and diversify supply while strengthening domestic infrastructure and capability. Long-term commitments on fuels, technology and capital will shape the next two decades. Those commitments have to be sustained across policy and commodity cycles. The discussion will focus on expanding and diversifying supply, building domestic infrastructure and capability, and the long-term policy and investment commitments required.
