About this session
India is one of the world's largest refiners and a major exporter of petroleum products, with capacity above 267 MMTPA and expected to grow to 310 MMTPA by 2030. Stagnant or declining refining capacity and maturing transport-fuel demand create an opportunity to increase India's role in global product trade. Capturing that share will require technological upgrades, global fuel compliance and trade relationships that secure market access. Export ambitions must also stay aligned with rising domestic demand. Both have to advance together rather than one at the expense of the other. The discussion will focus on how India grows its refining footprint globally while keeping domestic supply secure.
