About this session
The fuel station is becoming a broader energy and mobility hub. As demand shifts and margins on traditional fuel come under pressure, operators are adding multi-fuel charging, convenience retail, food and services, and digital payments, and combining them into formats that look very different from a conventional forecourt. Operators must judge which formats travel across markets and which need local adaptation. The service mix, loyalty and technology will determine the economics, and charging returns in particular vary with local vehicle mix and dwell time. The core shift is from selling fuel to serving the whole customer visit. The discussion will focus on the retail strategy behind the energy station of the future: which formats and services work, how the economics hold together beyond the fuel margin, and where operators should own, partner or adapt.
